TIFTON, GA (WALB) - The Tift County Blue Devils ended a tough season on a high note with one of the biggest upsets of the high school football season.

"I was proud our seniors were able to get a big victory and finish on a positive note. It's good for out program and our team to get a win against one of our region opponents and it's something to build on."Tift County finished the season 5-5 and 1-4 in 1-AAAAA.

The Blue Devils edged their region rival Lowndes 10-7 and are the WALB team of the week.

Bill Marsh from Colony Bank was there to present head coach Jay Walls and his players with the plaque and football on Tuesday.

It was the last game of the season for the Devils and a good way to send off the seniors and build for next year for the returning Tift County players.

Head coach Jay Walls said.

Senior Alex Martin said. "Beating Lowndes, that would be the best memory. It was my last game here as a Blue Devil so that's a great memory."
