Posey, Giants celebrate with fans

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (WALB) - The San Francisco Giants World Series win Monday ended what Giants fans say has been over a half century of torture.The city of San Francisco turned out by the thousands in downtown for Wednesday's victory parade.osey said. "San Francisco Giants, World Series champions. Let's enjoy this today, tomorrow, for a week and maybe even a month. But let's get back to work and make another run at it."

The Giants last World Series title was in 1954 when the team played in New York.


The parade route followed the same one the city threw when the Giants moved to the west coast from New York in 1958.

Leesburg's Buster Posey and the rest of the Giants players had their own trolley cars for ride downtown.

Buster said Monday winning world series is something he dreamed of as a child in Lee County.

And he won baseball's biggest prize in his rookie season in the big leagues.

And the former Lee County Trojan told Giant fans he is ready to do it again next year.
