With a road game next Thursday at West Alabama, head coach David Dean would love for his team to go ahead and wrap up the Blazers first conference title in six years.

The coach also wants his team to keep winning for the playoffs.

VSU is ranked second in the first super region poll behind number one Albany State.

The banged up Blazers want to stay in the top two because that means a bye week before they start the playoffs.

David Dean said. "Give us a chance to regroup a little bit. Find out possibly who will be our next opponent. Give us a week to do that as opposed to turning around on finding out on Sunday and having to start preparing at that time for the next ballgame."

VSU has won the Peach Basket Classic four straight years.

Game time is 2:00 p.m. Saturday in Valdosta.
