ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Just after 9:00 AM Wednesday morning it appears 2nd Congressional Challenger Mike Keown is conceding the race to incumbent Congressman Sanford Bishop.  Keown made the following post to his Facebook page.

Mike Keown for U.S. Congress

"We ran a great race, had a lot of support, but we came up short in the end. I feel like I have let a lot of people down, but I know in my heart I did all I could to win and we had a great team of staff and volunteers that left it all on the field. God's still in charge and when one door closes another opens. We will leave this page up for a couple more days and then shut it down. Thanks again for all your support!"

According to the Secretary of State's web site Congressman Sanford Bishop was the winner when all the votes were counted. He beat Mike Keown by about 5,000 votes, a 51.4% to 48.6% lead.

We'll have more on this story tonight at 6:00 PM.
