ALBANY,  GA (WALB) –  People are casting their ballots at voting precincts all over Southwest Georgia.

Around 8:15 this morning at Westover High School every voting booth was taken. The elections manager there said when they opened the doors at 7:00 there was a line of people waiting to get in. 115 people voted in the first hour.

Gordon Dickson of Albany says he never misses an election because he doesn't feel like people have a right to complain if they don't exercise their right to vote.

"I feel like people are going to make a change. They don't like the way things are going. Especially if you pay taxes, you really don't like the way things are going."

The polls opened at 7AM and close at 7PM. Election officials say the busiest times are between 7AM and 8 AM, around Noon when people are on their lunch break, and between 5PM-7PM when people get off work.
