ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Darton College women's soccer team suffered a heartbreaking loss to Georgia Perimeter in the region final on Saturday. It was Rachel Hatch who found the back of the net mid-way through the 1st half to put Darton ahead 1-0.
Georgia Perimeter equalized on a free kick that bounced and went over the head of goal keeper Fiona Ryan. The second half yielded 1 goal for each team and regulation ended with a 2-2 tie.
Both overtime periods went scoreless. The two teams made their first two kicks but the Lady Cavs fell short after missing their third kick. GPC had five PK's to DC's three. The NJCAA's 8th-ranked Lady Cavs ended their season with a15-3-1 record.
