ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany State Rams have stamped their ticket to what has ultimately become the conference championship game. ASU defeated Stillman College 44-5 Saturday afternoon and will move on to play Fort Valley (8-1) in the Fountain City Classic next week.
Stillman jumped out on Albany State, running the opening kickoff down to the redzone and scored a field goal on their first possession. The Rams answered with a 62 yard run by LaRonnie Davis on the next drive. It was all ASU from there on.
The Rams are now 9-0 for the first time since 2004. Fort Valley is the only team that stands between Albany State and the SIAC title. The game will be in Columbus at 2:00pm next Saturday.
