ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Unemployment remains above 10-percent in our area, but Albany Tech Graduates still stand a good chance of finding a job.

The fall class graduated Friday night despite the bad economy, school leaders say they still have a 98-percent placement rate.

Students may have to go farther, but they're confident graduates will find employment.

"We expect our students are going to be placed usually within a month to three months after graduation. We feel a technical education is going to give those folks a leg up," said Dr. Anthony Parker, Albany Tech President.

150 students received their GED. Technical certificates and associate degrees were also handed out.

Superior Court Judge Denise Marshall was the Commencement Speaker.
