One prominent political website now lists Congressman Sanford Bishop as the underdog in his race, but Bishop says he's confident he will be re-elected.
South Georgia law enforcement officers stood with Bishop on the courthouse steps in Albany today.
Dougherty District Attorney Greg Edwards said Bishop has strongly supported the fight against crime.
"Without a doubt, the law enforcement of the second congressional district is better equipped and trained, and our community safer because of Sanford Bishop working for us in Congress," said Edwards.
Bishop said "Very, very encouraged and looking forward to Tuesday coming. And getting this race behind us, so we can go back and continue working for the people of the second district."
Bishop said he has secured nearly 8 million dollars for South Georgia law enforcement.
