ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Americus-Sumter quarterback Thomas Haugabrook scores two fourth quarter touchdowns to lead the Panthers to a 24-10 win over upset minded Westover.

The Panthers opened the scoring in the 2nd quarter with a 54-yard touchdown run by Kedrick Jones.

A botched Westover punt set up Adam Heath with a 35-yard field goal and 10-0 Americus-Sumter halftime lead.

Westover's Chris Green delivered a big hit on Haugabrook that caused a fumble that was returned by Westover's Kenneth Towns for a touchdown to start the third quarter.

The Patriots drove down to the Americus-Sumter nine-yard line on the first possession of the second half.

Americus-Sumter pushed the Patriots back but Danny Brown connected on a 43-yard field goal to tie the game.

The Panthers took control in the fourth quarter when Thomas Haugabrook scored on a 39-yard touchdown run to put Americus-Sumter back in front.

The ensuing Westover possession ended with an interception by Tryan Goober.

That set up Haugabrook's second touchdown of the quarter.

Americus-Sumter is 6-3, 5-0 in 1-AAA and will host Cairo for the region title next Friday.

Westover falls to 2-7, 1-4 and will finish out the season next Saturday against Monroe.

One Thursday GISA score, Randolph-Southern beats Fullington 20-14 in Pinehurst.
