Fitzgerald traffic stop leads to Methamphetamine discovery

FITZGERALD, GA (WALB) –A traffic stop led to a drug arrest in Fitzgerald this afternoon. Authorities discovered the components needed to make Methamphetamine in a cooler in the back of a man's car.

Officers made the discovery when they pulled over 46-year old John Neely Nelms on Sultana Drive. Officers noticed an acid like smell when they walked up to the car. They looked around and found the cooler.

They booked the suspect into the Ben Hill County jail.
