Sylvester, GA (WALB) – Chief Alfred Anderson resigned effective immediately last week. The city manager says he did specify why he quit.
Assistant city manager Tommy Bozeman, himself a former SPD Chief, is overseeing the department, while they look for a qualified candidate
"Experience with management, community oriented policing, a person who fits well in our community and to bring our department. Move it forward in a professional manner," said Sylvester City Manager Deborah Bridges of the type of chief they're seeking.
The city plans to advertise for this position for at least 30 days, so officials say that search could take up to two months.
