VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -  Valdosta State could have a new starting quarterback for Saturday's game at Arkansas Tech.

ean "we are piecing together an offense each and every week. To our kids credit they are coming out and playing hard. They are doing what they have to do to win and hopefully they will continue to do that."

Head coach David Dean says Austen Roberts will start for a third straight week if the heel injury that knocked him out of last week's game allows.

Brett Whitmire, who started four games before suffering a separated shoulder, finished the game against Arkansas-Monticello.

Quarterback isn't the only position where the VSU offense is hobbled by injuries.

The Blazers have several more starters who may or may not play on Saturday.
