ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Darton soccer coach Bart Sasnett probably has had his blood pressure checked after his team's 3-0 win over Gordon in Wednesday's play-in game for the GJCAA men's tournament.
The #3 Cavaliers only led 1-0 at halftime after missing several scoring opportunities.
Darton did add two second half goals to advance to the semifinals.
Diego Aching got Darton on the board with a goal at 15 minute mark in the first half.
Mynor Perez finally gave Darton some breathing room with a goal halfway through the second period.
Guilherme Frota closed out the scoring for Darton.
The Cavaliers will play Georgia Perimeter in the semifinals at 6:00 p.m. Saturday at the Cavalier Complex.
Middle Georgia is the top seed and will play at 8:30 against the winner of the other play-in game between Wallace State, Alabama and South Georgia.
The men's championship match is 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Darton.
The Darton women play the winner of Wednesday night's game between Middle Georgia/Georgia Military in the GJCAA women semifinals at 6:00 p.m. Friday at Darton.
Georgia Perimeter is the top seed in the women's tournament and they play ABAC at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.
Women's championship match is 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at Darton.
