By Jennifer Emert - bio | email ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Mitchell County Investigators are waiting for autopsy results after finding an elderly man's body burned last week during an out of control brush fire.
Firefighters were called Thursday to a brush fire in the 1600 block of Highway 93. After they put out the fire, firefighters found 81-year old Walter Nimes body.
The body was sent to the crime lab to determine a cause of death. Investigators say they found a branch lying at Nimes feet with which they think he may have been trying to beat the fire out.
