ALBANY, GA (WALB) – A group of Albany organizations want you to exercise your right to vote.

For several hours today The Albany area chapter of the National Pan Hellenic Council held signs saying "get out and vote."

They reminded citizens mark their calendar, November 2nd is election day.

The council is non-partisan and comprised of nine Greek-letter organizations.

Saturday the were at the corner of Oglethorpe and Jefferson encouraging people to head to the polls.

"We just want you to get out and vote no matter what party you're a member of it's important that you get out and vote," said Martha Hines, Pres., National Pan Hellenic Council.

This is the first year the Greek-letter organization has been active about getting people out to vote.

The plan to have dozens more members at eight Albany intersections next weekend
