ALBANY, GA (WALB) –South Georgia home school students got their science lessons from a touring mobile lab Thursday and Friday.

The Science Academy Mobile Lab spent two days in Albany at the Beattie Road Church of Christ giving classes to the Southwest Georgia Homeschool  Association.

Joe and Nell Estes taught hands lessons in entomology, geology, chemistry, and electronics.

The Estes travel Georgia bringing students lessons that many don't get in their regular studies.

"We have microscopes on board. Some schools, especially for younger children, are not fully equipped with that type of equipment. So we bring equipment and things for them to see, but also give them hands on activities," said Nell Estes.

The Estes say their services are important because many public and private schools are cutting back on science labs because of the economy.

They've been delivering science lessons to the schools for nine years.
