AMERICAS, GA (WALB) - As people live longer, more care-giving services are needed. Some people who offer those services were honored Thursday.

Rosalyn Carter presented Regional Caregiver of the year awards at the annual Rosalyn Carter Institute summit at Georgia Southwestern.

Organizers say it's important to show support for those folks at a time when the aging population needs more quality caregivers.

Institute leaders say it's important to promote elderly health care research especially since in 20-years, more than 20 percent of the population will be 65 or older.
