ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Republicans brought their top brass to Dougherty County to show support for second District Congressional Candidate Mike Keown.

House Republican Leader John Boehner's spoke at a fundraiser at Doublegate Country Club, but he wouldn't speak publicly on Keown's behalf. The event was private, but we were sent this picture of Boehner talking to the group. Boehner promised to secure Keown a seat on the House Agriculture committee if he's elected and Republicans take control of the house. Keown says Republicans know this is an important seat and one where the margin is tightening.

"When the leader comes to town, he's coming to town because he believes you can win this race. I mean that's the bottom line and the fact that people all across the nation now are looking at this race as a race that can be won," said Mike Keown, Second Congressional Candidate.

Keown says the campaign has taken on a life of it's own and people are lining up with endorsements. He says his campaign will continue fundraising and giving it their all through election day when he's hoping for a big voter turnout.
