THOMAS COUNTY, GA (WALB) –Law enforcers in Thomas County are gearing up for their 8th annual Goodwill Project. And they need your help.

They need pound cakes to serve with meals at the fundraiser on Oct. 28th at the Jail-Justice Center.

Pound cake is the traditional dessert at the end of the meal which includes chicken, green beans, corn, and bread.

Each dinner plate is sold for $7.

The money helps provide Christmas presents for children in need.

"Helping children out at Christmas is a very nice and rewarding gift," says Shanell Roberts, an administrative assistant for Thomas County's Narcotics/Vice division. "Not many families get that opportunity and we're very happy to give back to the community."

If you buy a ticket, you'll also be entered in a drawing for two 100-dollar gift certificates.

If you'd like to donate a pound cake for the event, contact Shanell Roberts at (229) 225-3305.
