ALBANY, GA (WALB)  -- You've probably noticed quite a bit of progress if you've driven past the construction site for new East Albany Walmart lately.

Once the store is finished, it will be a state of the art super center and will look different than other nearby Walmarts.

Lots of people in our area are anticipating its opening, including a truck driver we spoke with today who says he's followed he construction of the retail giant since it started.

"It's real convenient especially at night," said James Pittman.  "If I have to spend the night out... food, might need some clothes, to put in my truck for bath, or stuff like that."

The Walmart should open sometime next year.
