ALBANY, GA (WALB) - In high football, the Fitzgerald Purple Hurricanes won a nail bitter on the road in Thomasville this past Friday.
The Hurricanes are the WALB team of the week for their overtime win against the Bulldogs. Colony Bank representative Mike Smith was there to present Robby Pruitt and his players with the award.
The win was a key region victory for the Canes going into their final two region games.
Robby Pruitt said "That was a big win for us you know in our region, you can't take any of them lightly. There are a few teams, Thomasville and Brooks and Cook that are always good. If you can go into these places and get a win it really helps with your seeding in our region"
Fitzgerald will head on the road this Friday to play Berrien.
