ALBANY,  GA (WALB) – A Trans Waste truck ran a stop sign and hit a van full of young children Tuesday morning around 7:30 where Clark Avenue intersects with the Liberty Expressway off ramp.

No one was hurt but the kids were pretty shaken up. Albany Police say 50-year-old Elton Barfield of Albany was driving the dump truck on the off ramp of the bypass and ran the stop sign when attempting to make a right hand turn onto Clark Avenue.

29-year-old Shauntay Johnson and two young girls ages eight and eleven, were in a van traveling south on Clark Avenue when the dump truck rammed them on the passenger side.

The truck driver is charged with failure to yield. Johnson was arrested because her drivers license is suspended.
