ALBANY, GA (WALB) – The Chronicle of Philanthropy reports donations to the country's largest charities dropped 11% in 2009. That's the largest decrease since the group began tracking donations more than 20 years ago.
Americus-based Habitat for Humanity International is now the 11th largest charity in the country. Its income dropped 3.8%.
Six of the top ten charities, including the two largest United Way and Salvation Army, also saw drops in donations.
