ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  The Sunbelt Ag Expo is a way for company presidents to check out their competition's new products and make business contacts worldwide. Tuesday's opening day will begin with a big announcement from Monsanto.

The cotton seed producer is expected to announce new weed management components that could get a lot of attention from cotton farmers. Spence Field makes it easy for company presidents to fly in for the day. The President of Deacero, a Mexico based fence company along with others are expected to make appearances over the next three days.

"The opening day, Tuesday, even though we're in the business of Ag Trade, it's a lot about pomp and circumstance so we're going to welcome a lot of VIP's. Presidents of companies are flying in to see the show which is always good," said Gina McDonald, Sunbelt Ag Expo Marketing Director.

Economic Development officials say it's important to bring in the top brass, especially when the spotlight of Expo this year it Growing Georgia at the Speed of Business and a focus on agribusiness growth in the Peach State.
