ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  Phoebe Cancer survivors dressed in pink to call attention to breast cancer awareness month.

Several cancer support groups meets the second Thursday of every month in Phoebe's Cancer Survivorship Room, but this month's meeting was turned into a celebration. Cancer survivors decorated pink bras in support of breast cancer awareness month. The most decorative bra won the artist an hour massage. Survivors say having the community behind them as well as other cancer survivors makes all the difference during a difficult time.

"It is a very scary time, a very confusing time, if you're a person of faith it can be a time when you question your faith," said Laura Fallin, a cancer survivor.

"It's very important, very much a bond between the women that come to this support group, very much a bond and you meet people you didn't even know," said Gloria Stewart, a cancer survivor.

Thursday's event included food, music, chair massages and a scarf tying demonstration.
