DOUGHERTY COUNTY, GA (WALB) – A local business is trying to generate more revenue for the Albany area when they draw thousands to Dougherty County this week for a concert.
The Albany Motor Speedway is hosting the first Tailgate Fest on Friday.
Organizers say they are prepared for as may as six thousand people at the speedway. Artists Shane Owens, Heather Ireland and the Low Cash cowboys will entertain the crowd.
"When we hold our races here some of the cars will park on the fence, but what we're actually going to do is allow them to park on the track where the races happen and they'll be backed up with their tailgates toward the concert, said Sabrina Smith, Event Co-Coordinator.
"We hope everyone will come out we want our race fans and we want to acquire new fans," said Sarah Carroll, Speedway Web Master.
