THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) – A Thomasville museum wants people to "Travel Back in Time" for October's Georgia Archives Month.
The Jack Hadley Black History Museum is now displaying historical records and newspaper articles from the 1950s and 60s. The letters and documents explain the impact of segregation and the civil rights movement on the community.
Some of the items have never been on display because they used to be a private collection.
"If they have old newspapers or grandma has passed on and you come home and have a box of assets you don't know what to do with, give it to me," Jack Hadley, the museum's director suggests. "I'll sort through it and see what I think is valuable that we should preserve."
