Rural wreck sends five to hospital

By David Miller

ALBANY, GA (WALB) – Five people were taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Nelms Road and Stage Coach Road in Dougherty County, about 11:45AM.

Authorities say that 17-year-old Kevin Naylor and three other Westover High students were skipping school when Naylor failed to stop at the stop sign, and struck a pickup truck driven by 57-year-old Warren Harrell of Sylvester.

All five people were transported to the hospital, but none of their injuries appeared to be life-threatening.

Alcohol was found at the scene, and police are investigating that aspect, as well as the wreck itself.

They said that charges are pending, and we do not know the names of the other three teens at this time.
