VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - One of the alumni returning to Valdosta State for homecoming last weekend was former Blazer quarterback Dusty Bonner.

The Blazers retired the number 17 Bonner wore in 2000 and 2001 seasons when he led VSU to back to back Gulf South Conference titles.

Bonner also won consecutive Harlon Hill Awards as the top player in Division II football and this summer he was named the Gulf South Conference's offensive player of the decade.

The humble Bonner was honored by having his jersey retired but also very proud of the changes he has seen to VSU campus in the last ten years.

Dusty Bonner said. "Coming into this weekend, I knew I would be happy and proud to be back. I have just been blown away the transition at Valdosta State and how great things are now."
