Cook's Brown making most of new chance

ADEL, GA (WALB) - A  hard but valuable less is paying off for Cook High all-star linebacker Shannon Brown this season.

Brown's play this season has been praised by opposing coaches including Colquitt County's Rush Propst.

The senior linebacker made another big hit when he sacked Fitzgerald quarterback Kaleb Nobles in the Hornets big win Friday.

The speedy Brown is also a weapon on offense and has committed to play for number one Alabama.

His football career last year took a detour with what Shannon said were poor choices he made.

Mistakes that have changed his life for the better.

Shannon Brown said. "You never know what you have until it is gone. Football was taken away from me because I was making foolish decisions. Now I am back on the right track. Going for nothing but it all."

Cook High hosts Berrien on Friday night in Adel.
