What you have in common with dinosaurs

ALBANY, GA (WALB) –The same water you wash your hands with is the same water dinosaurs drank from millions of years ago.  That's one lesson kids attending the water festival at the Flint Riverquarium learned Wednesday.

We found of group of Magnolia Elementary school students learning about how water impacts the weather from WALB Meteorologist Chris Zelman.  5th grader Michael Holloway said it's much more fun learning about water and weather outside the classroom and from a TV meteorologist than just sitting behind a desk.

He said, "I think it's pretty interesting that means I get to learn more about water and wind.  That he's actually coming all the way from the news just to teach me about water and wind."

Judy Bowles with Keep Albany Dougherty Beautiful said, "It gives them a different venue to learn in and that's always interesting.  Sitting the classroom is great, but a different way of learning makes them learn a little more, a little faster."

The final day of the water festival takes place tomorrow at the Riverquarium.
