ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany city leaders are planning ahead and warning of a possible garbage fee increase next year.
The city is buying expensive new garbage trucks. The Public Works Director believes he can pay for them within his current budget.
Just in case that's not possible, city commissioners authorized a rate increase that would start next July and would not exceed $1.13 per household.
Public Works plans to purchase the new trucks within the next six to eight months.
