Immigration fugitives arrested in south Georgia

ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  The Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Removal Office made 32 arrests in Georgia including several in our area after targeting criminal aliens and immigration fugitives.

In Sumter County, they arrested one person from Mexico. In Dougherty County they arrested a Guatemala native and the same for Grady County. The arrests were made during the four day roundup last week.

Of the 32 taken into custody 13 were aliens with prior criminal convictions, four include the one in Sumter County had been previously deported and returned to the United States illegally after being removed.
