ALBANY, GA (WALB) – An Albany charity group raises thousands of dollars to help four non-profits.
Wednesday afternoon, the Charity League of Albany presented checks to representatives from The Lily Pad, the Anchorage, Liberty House, and Children's Miracle Network.
Each organization received more than $4,000. Kenny Phillips, director of the Anchorage, says it costs more than $400 a month per man to receive treatment at his organization, and this donation will go a long way.
"It's been really tough to be able to make ends meet, month to month, so every little bit helps and so this will go a long way in helping."
The money was raised during a golf tournament in July put on by the Debutante Club.
