ALBANY, GA (WALB) – The Fire Pelosi Bus Tour stopped in Albany on Tuesday in support of Republican Congressional Candidate Mike Keown, who is running against incumbent District 2 Representative Sanford Bishop.

WALB received this response to the bus tour stopping in Albany from the Bishop campaign:

"We're aware of the Republican Party's strategy to joint every Democrat incumbent at the hip with Nancy Pelosi. Bishop's record shows his vote belongs to the people of the Second District and has broken with his party on many important issues, like supporting the extension of the Bush tax cuts for all income levels. "

"Our campaign is not concerned that the GOP chose to come here Tuesday. It is more a reflection on their candidate as that is the only way their candidate can move anything forward is on a bus."

"If anyone is looking for deciding factors in this election, they need look no further than the voters. They will decide whether to go with a continuation of Congressman Bishop's proven delivery for the people of the 2nd district or gamble that on the untested abilities of his opponent."

"This election is huge. All of them all and this one could very well be a defining moment for our part of the state and our nation. Again, it will be up to the voters. They will decide whether they want to move backwards with Mike Keown and the promised return to Bush era policies [Rep. Pete Session, Meet the Press, July 18th 2010] that nearly crippled the American economy or continue to move forward with Congressman Bishop."
