ALBANY, GA (WALB) –  A father's pleas were finally answered when his son surrendered to police to face an aggravated assault charge.

Police charged 35-year old Jonathan Ross with stabbing his ex-girlfriend, 21-year old LaShonda Jones, in the back Thursday night. Willie Ross, a community activist who leads efforts against crime and violence, talked to us Friday and pleaded with his son to turn himself in.

Monday night just after 9:00 PM, he accompanied his son to jail and Tuesday searched for an attorney to represent him as promised.
