THOMAS COUNTY, GA (WALB) –For the third time in two weeks, a Thomas County Central High student is arrested for bringing drugs to school.

After receiving a tip that a 12-grader may have marijuana, the school's resource officer says he found 18-year old Travis Akery with a pill bottle containing a small quantity of marijuana and a couple prednisone pills, a steroid anti-inflammatory medication.

Akery is charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession.

Two weeks ago, a TCCHS student was charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession, while another student was charged with selling the drug.
