ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  A group of good-hearted people stepped up to the plate to fight hunger across the globe.

Greener Globe Hunger Helpers held a home run derby Sunday afternoon at Ken Gardens Sports Complex in Albany,

People had a chance to donate money in a raffle. Funds raised will go towards providing meal packs to Third World countries. Some of those countries include Haiti, El Salvador, Ghana, and Cambodia.

"I'm really excited so hopefully we'll have a really good turnout and raise some money and I know these guys are ready for the game," said organizer, Grace McWilliams.

According to Greener Globe, 250,000 people die everyday of starvation. 75 percent are children.
