ANDERSONVILLE, GA (WALB) – A rolling tribute is making its way across the country to honor the men and women who gave their lives for this country in the Vietnam War.

It's now on display at the Andersonville National Historic Site.

The Vietnam traveling Memorial Wall is inscribed with more than 58,000 names.

And South Georgians unable to make to trip to Washington to see the memorial, can get a look it's replica close to home, but not for long.

"We have the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall here until 7PM Saturday September 25th, we have extended our park hours until 7 nightly to give visitors to come and visit this special wall," said Alan Marsh, Cultural Resource Specialist.

The traveling memorial doesn't stand alone, close by are the names of those who died defending freedom post Vietnam 1975 to present.
