ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Some Rock and Roll Hall of Famers are in south Georgia preparing for a weekend concert.

The Lovin' Spoonful will perform such hits as "Do You Believe in Magic" and "Summer in the City" Saturday night at the Sasser Flea Market.

We talked to lead singer Joe Butler and bass player Steve Boone who were part of the five-member band that played at the same shows as The Beatles and The Rolling Stones at the height of their popularity in the 60s.

"We combined the best of Folk music and Rock and Roll and what we came up with was Folk Rock," said bassist, Steve Boone. "At the beginning, The Beatles were very popular and we were one of the first American groups to actually have a hit at the hype of Beatle Mania."

Doors open at 7:00 Saturday night. Tickets are $25.
