ADEL, GA (WALB) –There's a federal investigation into possible illegal dumping of hazardous materials at Reed Bingham State Park in Adel.
The Georgia State Park Region manager says two empty, corroded metal drums about 55 gallons each were dug up at the site.
The EPA collected samples from the park to be processed.
"We're cooperating with them to sample the sites that were reported and they've taken soil and water samples and some other sampling," said Ronnie Eakins, Georgia State Parks Region Manager.
Georgia State Parks will now await results of the tests to find out if the ground was contaminated.
