ALBANY, GA (WALN) - Indoor football enters a new era in Albany.
The Albany Panthers of the Southern Indoor Football League have opened their first ever training camp.
Skill position players reported for camp over the weekend and now they have been joined by the linemen for the Panthers.
Head coach Luscious Davis going over the playbook during Monday's first team meeting and the first practice is Wednesday.
Davis doing his best to find players with previous arena experience like former South Georgia Wildcats quarterback Cecil Lester.
Davis counting on those veterans to be ready to go since the panthers first game is just two weeks from Saturday.
Luscious Davis said. "There is less teaching. The guys understand the game and they know what they are supposed to do. That was one of my main goals and I think I accomplished that real well."
The Panthers open the season at home April 3rd against Columbus.
