FORT BENNING, GA (WTVM) -  Fort Benning's 3rd Brigade deployed in early October and now, they are mourning the death of another one of their own.

The Pentagon says 25-year-old Staff Sergeant Briand Williams, from Sparks, Georgia, was killed Sunday in Eastern Iraq when insurgents attacked his unit.

The Cook County native was with the 3rd Brigade's 10th Field Artillery Regiment.

This was his fourth deployment overseas.

Williams joined the Army seven years ago in June of 2002 and became a member of  Fort Benning's 3rd Brigade September of 2007.

So far, no funeral arrangements have been announced.

Staff Sergeant Williams' death is the second for the 3rd Brigade since they deployed last month.
