They say they're Peanut Proud! And on March 21st...their holding a Peanut Proud Expo for the community.
Birdsong Peanuts and the local Chamber of Commerce in Blakely are putting together the peanut festival. After the national salmonella outbreak that began at the Peanut Corporation of America in Blakely, others in the peanut industry want to attract much needed positive attention to the area and their business.
"So we're just trying to get a positive light. Promoting the health benefits of peanuts and what it means to our industry locally as well as nationally. So that's where this thing is headed, and we've got a lot of things going on that day," said Harry Crozier, manager of Birdsong Peanuts.
From 10am to 2pm you can listen to speakers, watch demonstrations, hear good music, and best of all eat free food like PB&J's and other peanut butter products. Feedback
