Senior DeWayne Smith has been named defensive player of the week after he had five tackles for a loss of 28 yards and twoquarterback sacks in the Blazers 45-28 win at North Alabama.
Punter Kenn Barnett earns special team honors after he averaged almost 43 yards a kick on seven punts.
The second ranked Blazers can clinch a third straight Gulf South Conference title with a win over Arkansas Tech Saturday Afternoon at 12:30pm at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium.
