ST. LOUIS, MO. (WALB) - Climax native James Butler is moving from the Big Apple to the Midwest.

The free agent safety has signed a contract with the St. Louis Rams.

The Rams would not release details but it is believed to be for four years.

An undrafted free agent from Georgia Tech, James Butler worked his way into the starting safety job with the New York Giants and was a member of their Super Bowl winning team.

Former Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo is now head coach in St. Louis.

James Butler is one of the first players he wanted to upgrade the Rams secondary.

James Butler said. "I feel very comfortable with Spags. he has been with me for the past two years with the Giants. It is a big piece. I feel very comfortable being here and I am very excited."

James Butler had 68 tackles and intercepted three passes last year with the Giants.
