ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A nearly century old Oak tree was cut down in downtown Albany Wednesday. Crews removed the oak from in front of the post office at Jefferson St. and Broad Avenues Wednesday morning.
The city arborist declared the tree dead and a safety hazard yesterday. Public works crews removed the tree so it wouldn't fall on anyone. The other majestic oaks surrounding the post office are okay and won't be cut down.
