Albany - It's time to start collecting presents for the Mayors' Christmas Motorcade. This is the 44th year South Georgians have donated gifts to the mentally handicapped adults at the Southwestern Georgia Regional Hospital in Thomasville.
You can drop off gifts at several locations including the Recreation and Parks Office and the Government Center. You can also call the Recreation office for other drop-off sites.
Hygiene products, jewelry, games, and perfumes are just some suggested presents. A special collection day will be held on December 7th and if you give, you'll receive a gift in return.
"The Motorcade collection day will be at the Albany Chic-Fil-A. We'll have free food and entertainment. If you donate a gift, you'll get a free goodie," said Becky Belcher, with the Recreation and Parks Department.
The mayor of each participating city will drive the donation down to the hospital on December 9th.
