Blazers burn North Alabama

(Florence-AP) -- Buster Faulkner passed for 232 yards, including two touchdowns, to lead undefeated Valdosta State to a 45-to-28 win over North Alabama in Florence.

 Aaron Jenkins ran for 103 yards, including three touchdowns, for the Blazers (9-0, 7-0 Gulf South Conference).

DeMarcus Blount scored three touchdowns and Will Hall threw for 191 yards to lead North Alabama (3-6, 2-5).

But the Lions suffered from 14 penalties and the Blazers totaled 340 offensive yards to North Alabama's 286.

 Jenkins expanded Valdosta State's lead when he ran three yards into the end zone with 1:58 remaining, making the score 45-to-21.

Earlier, he ran 60 yards for a T-D with 2-04 left in the first quarter.

 North Alabama scored a final time with 35 seconds left when Blount caught a 12-yard pass from Hall to make the score 45-to-28. The Blazers led 24-to-7 at halftime.

Valdosta State rushed for 137 yards to North Alabama's 131 and passed for 232 to the Lions' 227.
